What’s TLC Kids about?
TLC Kids is an innovative children’s supplementary/ enrichment learning curriculum designed to enhance standards, attitudes and motivation in maths and science. TLC Kids was created by a team of experienced and dedicated teachers to meet a real need in education.
Children primarily attend classes in small ability based groups where they progress through courses (a series of lessons) which cover relevant learning objectives and are differentiated according to ability. To maintain variety and a balanced approach, we also offer individualized self-directed learning opportunities. TLC teachers use direct demonstration, interesting explanations, examples, manipulatives, interactive technologies and other techniques. The methodolgies are explained fully in training materials in the kit. The programmes are designed to develop confidence, consolidate and build on concepts and understandings —and, most importantly, the children enjoy the lessons!
At TLC, the core objective is to spark children’s interest, bringing out their very best as we draw upon their natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. We believe that children learn best when they are happy, confident and motivated, so our initial objective is to ensure that every child develops these attributes as a strong foundation to build on.
